In general the proposed project is to replace the Second Street Sewer Main between B Street and K Street. The existing 18" vitrified clay pipe (vcp) will be replace with a 28" High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe. Existing Sewer manholes within the project will be retrofitted to accept the new larger diameter pipe. All existing service laterals connecting into the main will also be replaced to the property line. In order to replace the existing line an approximately 5 foot wide trench will be dug to depths ranging from 4 to 16 feet. After installation the new main will be inspected via closed circuit television to insure all lateral connections were made properly and the pipe is free of manufacture and construction defects.
