Document Description
The City of Newark is undertaking a "Tune Up" of its 1992 General Plan in order to (a) update the policy framework and land use designations that will guide future development in Newark through 2035; (b) comprehensively incorporate recent planning efforts, including the completed and adopted Dumbarton Transit Oriented Development Specific Plan (2010), Area 3 and 4 Specific Plan (2009), 2009-2014 Housing Element (2010), and Climate Action Plan, into the General Plan so as to ensure Citywide policy consistency; and (c) address and satisfy new State and regional regulations that have come into force since the General Plan was last updated.
