Document Description
The City of Newark is undertaking a "Tune Up" of its 1992 General Plan. The vision for the growth and development of the community outlined in the 1992 General Plan remains a valid reflection of community values and priorities today. This vision promotes a strong sense of community and neighborhood familiarity among residents; guides the timing and location of development so as to protect sensitive natural environments; and concentrates commercial and industrial land uses along the edges of the city to capitalize on freeway access and buffer more sensitive land uses.
