The project involves the placement of up to four growout pens in San Luis Bay for the purpose of growing and releasing white sea bass (Atractoscion nobilis) in accordance with the Californina Department of Fish and Game Ocean Resources Enhancement and Hatchery Program (OREHP). The initial delivery of seabass is expected to be 2,000 fish and will be increased over time if the pilot program proves successful. San Luis Bay is located about mid-way between San Francisco and Los Angeles in San Luis Obispo County.
