Document Description
The A and B 161/92-kV transmission line (A/B Line) is part of the Project and is one of the four major transmission line upgrades planned for the Transmission System Upgrades Program. The Project would consist of critical Imperial Irrigation District (IID) network and facility upgrades, including upgrades to the A/B Lines, that would allow up to 1,200 megawatts of new power generation facilities to connect to the IID transmission grid. The Project would consist of the upgrade to 18.7 miles of the existing double circuit (161kV and 92kV) transmission lattice towers to double circuit 230 kV from ECSS to the East Highline canal, installation of new monopole double circuit structures to support line rerouting, limited replacement of existing support structures with monopoles, and upgrade of the integral substations.
