Document Description
Installation of a new fish screen and permanent bypass for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) re-licensing of the Spring Gap-Stanislaus Hydroelectric Project (FERC #2130). The Project is limited to: conducting five (5) geotechnical borings and 10 test pit excavations within the riparian area of MFSR to confirm subsurface soil and gourndwater characteristics, retrofitting the existing intake facilities with a new fish screened intake, permanent bypass, and civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical improvements at the exisitng Sand Bar Diversion Dam, installing six (6) self-cleaning fish screens, placing approximately 30 cubic yards of concrete in the channel for the construction of the footing/foundation fish screen bypass/spillway structure, constructing a fish bypass and spillway for regulating instream releases and conveying fish, debris, and sediment from the intake to receiving tailwater pool, and constructing a control building for housing electrical/control equipment necessary to monitor, automate, and maintain fish screened intake. Permanent impacts to the bed and bank of the river at the location of the permanent bypass intake will be approximately 0.16 acres. Water will be temporarily diverted around the construction site.
