Prior to the Notification, a portion of Calumet Creek (stream) was widened to create a basin area to collect sediment and provide flood protection. Concrete rubble and other unidentified debris was depostied in areas along the stream, near the basin, for erosion purposes. Native vegetation was impacted and removed during these activiities and overall, an estimated 2,300 linear feet of the creek was impacted. The current debris basin (0.77 acres) will be left in place to provide future flood protection.
