Caltrans proposes to widen the eastbound shoulder to a standard eight feet, install rumble strips at the edge of traveled way, and extend an existing drainage pipe to accommodate the shoulder widening. NO work will be done in the westbound lane of SR 4. The purpose of the project is to reduce the severity and number of Run-off-Road (ROR) accidents on eastbound SR 4 within the project limits.
