Document Description
The Project is limited using heavy equipment to excavate and remove sediment that has accumulated above the culvert inlet. The fill around the culvert and standpipe will be excavated down to the natural channel bed and the original valley hill slopes will be exhumed to the extent possible. The culvert and standpipe will remain intact and in place. Equipment operators will excavate a channel through the Eel River. The general design will entail the construction of a 15 foot wide channel with a consistent 3 percent channel grade and the stream side slopes will be sloped back to bedrock or a stable 2:1 slope angle.
