Document Description
The City of Ione, as a responsible agency, has affirmed authorization to allow CDCR and its representatives/licensed contractors to enter specific City properties for the purpose of installing pipelines, valves, controls, and related appurtenances in portions of Dave Brubeck Road, Five Mile Drive, Old Stockton Road, and other adjacent City properties to facilitate the conveyance of secondary disinfected effluent from Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) to a new land application area known as Woodard Bottom. The implementation of this land application area is an element of CDCR's Level II Infill Correctional Facilities Project at MCSP. The pipeline and related infrastructure will allow the beneficial use of secondary disinfected effluent for the production of a fodder crop on this approx. 100 acre pasture, which is currently not irrigated. The Woodard Bottom land application area is situated southwest of the City of Ione on private ranch land. All work within public roads will be subject to encroachment permits issued by the County of Amador and/or the City of Ione. Prior to the imitation of the Woodard Bottom land application area CDCR is required to secure applicable regulatory permits. The environmental effects of using the existing pipeline from prison grounds and construction of new pipeline and related appurtenances in portions of Dave Brubeck Road and other City properties as well as activation of the Woodard Bottom site for fodder crops were fully evaluated by CDCR in the 2013 EIR, 2015 SEIR, and the July 2017 Addendum.
