Document Description
The MRWPCA is studying alternatives for enhancing the capacity of its existing Salinas Pump Station, which is part of the conveyance infrastructure which delivers wastewater produced in the City of Salinas to the MRWPCA's Regional Treatment Plant. Capacity enhancement would be needed within five to 15 years as development within the City of Salinas proceeds consistent wih the City of Salinas 2002 General Plan. Alternatives 1 and 2 consist of a flow equalization basin or tank with an equalization pump station and force main/gravity pipeline (placed in one of two possible locations). Alternative 3 is a 42-inch force main placed parallel to the MRWPCA's existing 36-inch force main. Alternative 4 is a Phase 1 portion of the Alternative 3 parallel force main. Alternative 5 is an intermediate pump station on the existing 36-inch force main.
