Document Description
The Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) Particulate Matter Reduction Plan (PMRP) represents the latest and most comprehensive plan to address dust and particulate matter emissions at Oceano Dunes SVRA. The PMRP would involve the following activities over an approximately four year period: 1) Development of an approximately 23-acre foredune system immediately behind the tidal zone; 2) Conversion of approximately 50 acres of wind fencing to natural vegetation; 3) Restoration of up to 60 acres of back dunes from open sand to natural vegetation cover; 4) Temporarily deploying up to approximately 40 acres of wind fencing and/or straw bales per year at Oceano Dunes SVRA; 5) Preventing track-out of sand onto Grand Avenue in the City of Grover Beach and Pier Avenue in Oceano; and 6) Dust and meteorological monitoring.
