Document Description
The existing Van Horn Youth Center is a 44-bed residential treatment and education center provided and administered by the Riverside County Probation Department. The proposed treatment and education center will be approximately 75,000 sf and comprise of a 10 bed assessment unit, a 20 bed transitional housing component, and four, 20-single cell living units (with the potential for a future 20 bed transitional housing component and a 20-single cell living unit with recreation areas for an additional 11,692 sf. There is the potential for asbestos-containing material (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP) to be present. The new Van Horn YTEC will be LEED-certified. Demolition and construction is expected to be completed by 2015.
