Document Description
The Project includes the temporary installation of a car in the bed of the Kern River, for filming a sceen in a film production. The car will be a cleaned and gutted four-door sedan-type model. all engine parts, fluids, fluid reservoirs, seats, window, and electronic components of the car will be removed before placing in the river and the undercarriage willl be cleaned of any residual oil and other fluids. The car will be moved into the channel by hand, by pushing the car across the rocky surface of an existing raft pullout. The car will be installed upside down in the wetted portion of the channel and secured in place by metal cables and/or chains attached to rebar inserted into the bank using hand tools. The car will be removed using a winch mounted on a tow truck to drag the car out along the smae path used to take it in.
