Document Description
The California Department of General Services (DGS) is proposing to replace the glass spandrel panels on the Board of Equalization Headquarters Building. The building is 24 stories and was constructed in 1992. The glass spandrels pose a public safety concern, as a number of the panels have cracked. Studies on the breakage are inconclusive; however, mechanical damage, thermal stress, nickel-sulfide inclusions, and/or wind damage may be the cause.
