Document Description
Using only State funds, the California Department of Transportation will install drainage pipes at the northbound Red Bluff Rest Area approx. 4 miles north of the City of Red Bluff in Tehama County. At the lower level restrooms the work will include installing 60 feet of 8-inch diameter steel pipe from the rest rooms to a proposed 36-inch grated metal drain. From the drain, a 12-inch diameter steel pipe will be installed under the parking lot for 120 feet, where it will outlet near an unnamed ephemeral channel east of the rest area. On the upper level a 16-foot long, 6-inch wide grate-covered trough and an 8" diameter steel pipe will be installed to drain ponding water. Maximum excavations will be 30 inches in depth. Some landscape vegetation will be removed to allow access for excavation. Project will allow storm water to drain away from areas used by the public.
