Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control has issued an Emergency Permit to Beale AFB to treat hazardous waste by open detonation. The items to be treated are two 40 mm grenades (M406) and one 3.5 inch practice rocket (M29a2) and were recovered by local civilian law enforcement. Beale AFB Explosive Ordinance Disposal personnel have determined that, due to their condition, the items are considered unsafe for shipment. The Emergency Permit is effective from October 11, 2012 through January 10, 2013. Treatment will be scheduled depending on weather, logistics, and availability of personnel. The treatment activities will be conducted by qualified personnel from Beale AFB. The detonation will be performed on the Beale AFB Explosive Ordinance Disposal Range.
