Document Description
The City of Fairfield proposes to install a 30-inch diameter pipe to convey stromwater from an existing storm drain system in the City of Fairfield, which currently discharges through an existing bubble-up outlet box into a roadside ditch, and discharge it instead into the Laurel Creek Bypass. The storm water pipeline would connect to an existing 30-inch storm water pipeline coming under the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks from Fairfield to a new junction box in the City of Suisun City. The new junction box will be constructed with two 18-inch pipes installed to convey storm water into a new traffic rated junction box in Railroad Avenue and then into a new 30-inch pipeline which would extend approximately 2,300 feet down the center of Railroad Avenue to the Laurel Creek Bypass. At the Laurel Creek Bypass, the pipe would tie into an existing pipeline that carries storm water and eventually discharges into the Suisun Marsh. The proposed project would require excavation of approximately 2,300 feet down in the center of Railroad Avenue to the Laurel Creek Bypass. At the Laurel Creek Bypass, the pipe would tie into an existing pipeline that carries storm water and eventually discharges into the Suisun Marsh. The proposed project would require excavation of approximately 162 square feet of the roadside ditch to install the new junction box. The storm water pipeline would be installed concurrently with the City of Fairfield East-West Water Transmission Pipeline project to avoid additional construction impacts along Railroad Avenue. Upon completion, the storm water pipeline would be owned and maintained by the City of Suisun as part of the City's storm drain system.
