Document Description
Oakland Unity High School proposes to relocate from its current campus at 6038 Brann Street, Oakland, to a vacant 55,000 sf office building located at 2955 Peralta Oaks Court, Oakland. The proposed Project would involve construction activities including interior alterations to convert vacant office space to classrooms, science, math and computer labs, a performing arts theater, woodshop and metal shop, administration spaces and a multi-purpose room/cafeteria. Parking would be substantially reduced to meet the reduce to meet the reduced needs of the school. A portion of an existing parking lot will be reconstructed as a 9,500 sf gymnasium. Construction work would occur during 2013-2014; the school would open August 2014. Student enrollment is planned to increase to approximately 450 by 2017.
