Document Description
This proposed project involves the expansion of 1.9 miles of Dougherty Road to a six-lane arterial and the addition of on-street bicycle lanes. The purpose of these improvements is to address traffic congestion and multi-modal circulation issues for commuters traveling Dougherty Road. Improvements will include adding Class II bicycle lanes in both directions of travel and reconstructing or resurfacing the existing 8-ft wide bicycle and pedestrian path on the east of the roadway. The project will also widen the roadway from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane divided roadway with a raised landscaped median. The project will result in permanent impacts to 7.35 acres of California tiger salamander habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is/are designated a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation.
