Document Description
This is a request to construct a new 60-foot-long, 14-foot-wide car bridge over a portion of the east branch of Green Valley Creek in the Diablo area of Contra Costa County. Since the construction is to occur within a riparian environment, the proposal is not considered exempt from CEQA and an IS was required to determine the project's potential impacts on the environment. The bridge is being constructed in response to the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District's project conditions requiring improved emergency access to the subject parcel. The existing access bridge is an aging one-lane 9-foot-wide car bridge that is only able to accommodate one vehicle at a time; Fire District codes require at least 12 feet of unobstructed width.
