Document Description
Routine maintenance activities for 3602 designated flood control facilities located within the Permittees right-of-way. Activities include: channel and basin/dam maintenance (i.e., cleaning, silt removal, slope maintenance/repair); landscape maintenance; vegetation control/removal; insect/rodent control; rip-rap installation
and repair; structural inspection/cleaning; removal/replacement of concrete lining; and the repair and back-fill of washouts. Bridge maintenance activities include: maintenance of stream bed, bank, and channel in the immediate vicinity of the bridge; repair of concrete bridge elements within the channel (spalled and cracked
wing walls, abutments, piers, girders and underside of deck); and cleaning and painting of steel bridge members. The discharge of fill is limited to no more than needed to restore the facilities to their maintenance baseline condition. Maintenance baseline is a description of the physical characteristics (e.g. depth, width, length, location, configuration, or design flood capacity, etc.) of a flood control project within which maintenance activities are normally performed.
