Document Description
CDFW has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0054-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Orange County Public Works.
Project is limited to removing sediment from San Diego Creek between I-40 and I-405. The project will re-establish the stream to as-built conditions. Excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, scrapers, loaders, and other earth moving equipment will remove an estimated 530,000 cubic yards of sediment from 6.2 miles of San Diego Creek within the project area. The project will impact a maximum of 138.71 acres of stream channel. The majority of the impact area is unvegetated due to existing structures, channel scouring, sedimentation, and ongoing vegetation removal maintenance activities. Sparse areas of native and non-native vegetation temporarily establish in this reach of San Diego Creek between scour/sedimentation episodes and ongoing maintenance activities.
