Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-ORA-25795-R5), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602 to the project Applicant, Orange County Department of Public Works as represented by Giles Matthews. The project is limited to the replacement of earthen banks with ungrouted riprap in Lane Channel, in two sections, between Main Street and State Route 55. The channel has urban runoff which will be pumped around the construction site via cofferdams and sump pumps. The bank toe and earthen slopes will be excavated out into benches, then the slopes will be backfilled and compacted. Filter fabric will be placed on to the slopes, followed by a gravel base, then with large angular 2-foot thick riprap. The riprap will be locked into place via excavator. The existing sloughing riprap will be replaced with new riprap and the channel invert will remain earthen. Mitigation for project impacts will occur off site at the Peter’s Canyon Wash Mitigation Area within Peter’s Canyon Regional Park.
