Document Description
The proposed action is the adoption of the 2013-2020 Housing Element of the General Plan, consistent with CA Government Code Section 65583. The purpose of the Housing Element revision is to identify the City's existing and projected housing needs and to establish goals and policies to guide City officials in daily decision making to address these needs. The goal of providing decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing to current and future residents of the City is primary focus of the Element. The Element also emphasizes specific target groups requiring the most urgent attention in the City, such as senior citizens, lower income households and people who are homeless. The Housing Element serves as a policy document for addressing specific issues that may arise in meeting the housing needs of the community.
