Designing and implementing physical plant modifications and improvements to allow timely medication distribution to inmate patients at twenty two state prisons, which are operated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). The scope of work at each facility is based upon the existing physical plant of each prison, and the medication utilization factors determined by the types of population(s) housed at each facilty. To the extent possible, prototypical design solutions will be used for similar physical plants. The scope of work at each facilty may include a combination of the following components: construction of additional medication distribution windows; improvement or expansion of space for medication preparation activities, including lighting, sinks, HVAC and information technology; and security upgrades to ensure safe storage of medications.
