Document Description
Using only State funds, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), will repair damage and remove hazards occurring from the Chisp Fire on (SR) 70 in Plumas County. The work will include: cleaning debris from roadside shoulders, cutting & removing burned trees above the highway, installing culvert end treatments, installing concrete inlets, digging sumps with clean-out access at culvert inlets, installing rock check dams, and installing signs. The Chips Fire burned vegetation that supported earthen material above the highway. In addition, it left burned trees that could fall onto the roadway. The project will remove debris that has migrated onto the roadway shoulder, remove potential hazard trees, and clean and repair culvert inlets.
