Document Description
Using only state funds, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will repair the paved surface of approximately 6.1 (mi) of (SR) 299 west of Cedar Pass in Modoc County. The strategy will include performing a 0.33' deep cold in-place recycle on the existing pavement and then covering it with a 0.15' thin blanket overlay. Shoulders will be backed to conform to the new pavement height. Cold planning of the asphalt will be required to match existing roadway features and all work will remain witin the existing roadbed. The pavement is at the age where a preventive type treatment will extend the service life of the before it needs major rehabilitation.
