Document Description
Grade and contour <1,000 square feet of land 6" or less in depth to ensure proper drainage of storm water run-off away from Historic Residence #33 in Columbia State Historic Park to prevent water damage to the house. Work will excavate a trench a maximum of 12" deep, 12" wide and 120' long to install French drains around the North and West Sides of the residence and install a discharge pipe to a 36" x 36" dry well at the North East corner of the lot. Sand and native soil will be used to backfill the trench. Additional work will re-vegetate the excavated and trenched areas with native grass seed and straw and install a 3.5" deep concrete slab floor in the existing 20' x 26' dirt floor garage (minimal hand raking will occur to level the ground). Excavation and trenching will be monitored by an Associate State Archaeologist.
