Document Description
This project is Phase 1 of an advanced, underground Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) plant demonstration. Phase 1 consists of geologic reservoir selection, verification, permit filing preparation, and engineering. This project will help determine the viability and reliability of advanced, underground CAES technology. The enegry Commission is only co-funding portions of Phase 1 of the project. The compression testing in the field during Phase 1 will not be funded by the Energy Commission.
