Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to remove approx. 35,000 cubic yars of unstable material that is located at the top of a cut bank on (SR) 96 at (PM) R27.7 in Siskiyou County. This material has slumped 20ft and is jeopardizing an essential east-west transportation corridor as well as the safety of the traveling public. Material removed will be taken to the previously cleared Bunker Hill disposal site. Additional work will include a 0.1' overlay of the existing paved Forest Service road to the disposal site. The overlay will start on the east side of the Independence Bridge and run to the disposal site entrance. All work and staging will be confined to edge of pavements (EP) to EP.
