Document Description
The purpose of this project is to protect and restore habitat for the state listed endangered and federally listed threatened thread-leaved brodiaea, Brodiaea fillifolia. A prescribed burn has been planned to take place when conditions permit, between Monday, October 22, 2012 and Friday, November 16, 2012 to six (6) acres of non-native grassland at San Onofre State Beach, 3 miles inland of Interstate 5, near the end of Avenida La Pata, City of San Clemente. This burn is part of the prescribed fire program for vegetation management. This treatment will enhance the health of the native plant communities, aid in the control of non-native, weedy species, and encourage native diversity.
