Document Description
Using only State funds the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will place a chip seal over the paved surface of all 8.9 miles of (SR) 172 in Tehama County. A dig-out repair strategy will be used to restore badly worn pavement prior to the chip seal. All work will occur in the traveled way. No work will occur on the concrete bridge decks. Parking and material stockpiling will occur in established turn-outs. This project will repair area of localized pavement failure providing safer travel and restoring ride quality.
