Document Description
The SDSU - Imperial Valley Campus will be installing a community solar project using photovoltaic solar technology on its Brawley Campus. The project will include photovoltaic panels, mounting system, inverters, and all accessory and appurtenant improvements, including an approximately 2500' extension of the 34kV "BH" line to connect the solar field to the grid. All of the electricity produced will be sold to local homes and businesses in the Imperial Valley (5 MW). Enough additional electricity will be produced to fully power the Brawley and Calexico campuses (approximately 1.5 MW). The photovoltaic panels chosen for this project will be mounted on a single-axis tracking system which will provide more production than standard fixed tilt mounting.
