Document Description
Under the new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license (FERC No. 2101) for the Upper American River Project (UARP), the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) will increase the streamflow releases at all UARP dams in order to enhance habitat conditions for fish and other aquatic organisms. Because the existing outlet works at Rubicon Dam are not capable of providing the higher streamflow releases, SMUD proposes to modify the dam's outlet works by increasing the size of the outlet valve and associated plumbing. Construction will occur in the low-flow season and mitigation measures have been developed to minimize impacts to water quality, aquatic resources and terrestrial resources.
