Document Description
RTC proposes to construct four new carport structures with roofs that consist of fixed solar PV panels within the southern portion of the lower surface parking area and then connect this new infrastructure via underground conduits to an inverter/frequency converter on the northern side of Building 36, a research and education building that would receive the incoming solar-generated power. The carport solar structures would require a supporting post about every 20 feet for a total of 10 posts. Holes would need to be drilled through the existing paved parking area and would extend into the soil about 12.5 feet below grade. The posts would be placed directly into the paved parking areas nearby and around, but not in, the leach fields. All systems would adhere to CA Building Codes/Standards and CA Energy Commission technical and installation specifications.
