Document Description
Request for a Major Modification to CUP 5255 for the redesign and continued operation of an existing communications facility located on an existing water tank, operated by AT&T. The existing water tank will be removed and a new faux elm tree will be constructed within the water tank footprint. The faux elm tree will have a maximum height of 24 feet and the top of the antennas will be located at the 20 feet 6 inches height level. The AT&T facility will have two sectors with three antennas per sector, for a total of six antennas. The AT&T facility includes three existing outdoor equipment cabinets that will be removed and replaced with a 230 sf prefabricated equipment shelter. The proposed project also includes landscaping to blend the faux elm tree with the surrounding vegetation. The proposed landscaping includes the removal of three non-native eucalyptus trees and the installation of three 24 inch native coastline oak trees and three 24 inch native walnut trees. The proposed landscaping will be irrigated by water trucks periodically until the trees have been established. The water trucks will water the site two times each month during the first year after the landscaping is installed and one time each month during the second year after the landscaping is installed.
