Document Description
U.S. Borax Inc. is proposing to replace their existing cogeneration (co-gen) plant at its facility in Boron, CA. New co-gen plant is to be constructed adjacent to the existing co-gen. Co-gen Project will consist of two General Electric (GE) LM6000 PC natural-gas-fueled combustion turbine generators with heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) equipped with auxiliary duct burners to produce up to 500,000 pounds per hour (lb/hr) of process steam and~76 megawatts (MW) of electricity at full load. The new co-gen plant would replace the existing co-gen facility with Westinghouse W251 generator and HRSG equipment. When replacement turbines and HRSG units are operational, existing Co-Gen facility will be decommissioned.
