Document Description
The proposed Undergrounding Overhead Utilities Program is a multi-year, phased program with the goal of undergrounding approximately one mile of overhead utilities each year until all of the main lines have been undergrounded. The first phase of the project includes undergrounding approximately 1.25 miles of overhead utility lines from Congress Avenue, where David Avenue in Pacific Grove terminates, south along Colton Road toward the PG&E stepdown located on Lopez Road at Forest Lake Road. After Phase I is completed, PBCSD staff estimates there are approximately 10 miles of remaining main electric distribution lines overhead that would be undergrounded in future phases of the program. All undergrounding is proposed within the existing paved roadway of road right-of-way.
