Document Description
This project requires approval of a Coastal Development Permit and Site Development Permit for work within the Coastal Zone (City Jurisdiction) and when an Important Archaeological Site is present and cannot be exempt pursuant to Section 143.0220 of the Land Development Code. These actions do not authorize construction prior to or without subsequent approval by City Council to prioritize and form an underground utility district which would allow San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) to construct an Underground Utility System per the franchise agreement. The project would excavate trenches approximately 5 feet deep and 2.5 feet wide. The trenches would be located along one side of the public right-of-way, and would install conduit, substructures, and transformers located on concrete pads. In addition, the project would install cable through the conduits; provide individual customer connections, removal of existing overhead lines and poles, and the installation of streetlights where applicable. Curb ramps would be installed where missing and, if applicable, street trees would be relocated or installed. All work will be entirely within the public right-of-way.
