Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a project with State only funds on highway 36 in Lassen County, between (pm) 26.0 and 26.6 approx. 0.10' of existing asphalt will be milled off and replaced with approx. 0.10' of hot mix asphalt. The utilities will be adjusted as needed. On highway 70 in Plumas County between (PM) 90.5 and 96.0 digouts will occur in the wheel paths and approx. 0.10' of existing asphalt will be milled off and replaced with approx. 0.10' of hot mix asphalt. All work will be done within the existing roadbed hinge points. The project will involve the removal of thermoplastic pavement markings and a lead compliance plan. It is anticipated the project will be constructed in 2013 and will have approx. 40 working days. The purpose and Need: The existing pavement is in poor condition. This project will repair areas of localized pavement failure and provide highway users with both a safer and more comfortable ride.
