Document Description
The project involves the excavation and off-site disposal of approximately 500 cubic yards of soil. The soil will be excavated from three locations below the former building at depths up to 15 feet below grade. The Closure Plan provides for use and spray misting to control the generation of fugitive dust during closure activities. Work will not be conducted during high wind condition. In addition, LLNL will perform wheel washing, as needed, to ensure that trucks do not track soils away from the project site. LLNL will monitor dust levels with a particle analyzer to ensure that dust suppression measures are effective. Similar dust control measures were used during the building demolition phase of the closure (already completed) and proved effective.
