The 0.50-acre Hills Ferry Barrier Project consists of the seasonal installation, operation and removal of a fish barrier in the San Joaquin River. The purpose of the project is to preent adult fall-run Chinock salmon and Central Valley Steelhead from entering the San Joaquin River upstream of the confluence of the Merced River.
