Document Description
This site was operated as an operating landfill from 1967 until November 2009. Approximately 50 acres of the site do not have a final cover system, and have an inadequate intermediate cover. The sol cover at the site is thin and does not seal the top of the refuse cells well enough to shed rainfall runoff and allow for good operation of the landfill gas collection system. The remediation project will consist of constructing an interim soil cover of 24" thickness over areas of the site inadequate cover, and relocating inert materials from outside the refuse footprint onto the existing fooprint.
