Document Description
Continued operation of a sand and gravel mine that has been in operation since 1959. Currently, approximately 12,000 cubic yards of material are extracted each year from three (3) gravel bars adjacent to the channel of San Simeon Creek. The amount of aggregates excavated each year is dependent on market conditions and demand, and the replenishment of sand each year by stream flows. Excavation will be limited to 5 feet in depth from a baseline established on June 26, 2001, and will be completed annually between April 15 and October 31, when the excavation areas are dry.
