Document Description
The Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council is requesting $20,000 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy's Propostition 84 Healthy Forests Grant Program to complete the planning tasks needed to prepare a hazardous fuels reduction plan on 40 acres. Project activities include data collection, resource evaluation, designation of trees and vegetation to be remove, forest product assessment, preparation of appropriate technical documents for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and timber harvesting permits, and filing of a Forest Fire Prevention Exemption/CEQA document for CEQA compliance. The purpose of this project is to gather the information necessary to prepare a hazardous fuels reduction plan, prepare appropriate environmental documents and prepare necessary permit applications in order to obtain approvals.
