The Butte County Fire Safe Council is requesting $100,000 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy's Proposition 84 Healthy Forests Grant Program for thinning and chipping overstocked brush and trees on about 400 acres in Butte County. The project involves providing chipping services to 23 communities within the County's six major watersheds for landowners in area identified as wildlife urban interface, conducting pre- and post- treament monitoring, and reporting treated acres to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for mapping.
