The Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Highway Division, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, California Department of Transportation, and Plumas County, is proposing to improve a portion of California Forest Highway 177, from Beckwourth to Clover Valley in Plumas County, CA. The project would improve 9.6 miles of roadway, which would involve rehabilitating 1.7 miles and reconstructing 7.9 miles to provide for a consistent 24-foot-wide asphalt surface. This Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared to evaluate the potential social, economic, and environmental effects and identify measures to minimize potential effects of the proposed action.
