Document Description
Note: FYI - No Review Period. The Station is located on the inland side of the northern spit of Humboldt Bay, in Samoa, Humboldt County, California. Storm events, boat wake, and wind-driven waves have eroded the beach, flooded buildings during high-tide storms, and now threaten to undermine the associated parking lot. The USCG proposes to stabilize the shoreline by placing a stone revetment along ~510 feet of existing shoreline at the Station. The stone revetment (riprap) would be placed on the waterside of an existing retaining wall. Additionally, up to 700 feet of an existing underground telecommunications cable may need to be relocated landward to accommodate the new riprap, if it cannot be protected in place.
