The Placer County Department of Agriculture will prevent the spread of yellow starthistle into the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Placer County by eradicating the eastern-most "leading edge" populations. This project has been identified as a top priority for protecting the region's agricultural and environmental resources by an extensive collaboration of partners, including federal, state and local agencies, utilities, and private landowners.
